My original intent in creating this work was to create an atmosphere of pure bliss. I love birdsong and find it very relaxing, calming. I started to come up with this idea when I was living in a basement apartment, a somewhat dismal place I would retreat to after the work day. I found if I played birdsong it would transform the space into something pleasant and cozy.

So an atmosphere of paradise untainted. As I worked however I found it increasing difficult to keep the "shadows" out. The work took over as they say and the light of the first section gave way to darker areas of sound within the bliss.

In some ways I found this to be very much like the story of creation and how it became tainted by sin; and much like Earth where there are vistas of beauty within the wilderness there is also danger and trial.
